Ticket Broker

As you can start to see from some of my earlier posts, I am curious to see if some of these side hustles really work and are worth the effort. There were a few that I already posted about that seemed like the reward wasn’t worth it, meaning the $’s earned seemed small but these ideas required very little time and effort so that is why they were appealing to me.

I am now onto another side hustle that I have never done before but willing to try to learn and see what the payoff might look like: Reselling Tickets

I have read and research this a little bit online and decided to try it out. What I have learned is that you will need to get a sense of what shows will sell out and then how do you get access to pre-sale tickets. There are a few pre-sale options available for most, if not, all shows, and the most common ones are:

Citi Pre-sale with Live Nation

American Express Pre-Sale option

As I do have both cards, I decided to go the Citi pre-sale route on an upcoming concert. Once the pre-sale started, I focused on getting some middle of the road seats but have an aisle preference since I think they might warrant a slight premium for resale. I was successful and captured 4 tickets in total: 2 sets of 2 tickets on the aisle towards the center of the stage: Score!!!

Now I am onto listing them for re-sale. I haven’t posted them on any resale sites since I opted for the physical tickets in hand and this will take about 10-14 days to mail from Ticketmaster. It is plenty of time since the concert is in early September….While I wait, I am researching the best way to re-list these tickets, should I go back to Ticketmaster, Stubhub or another option? If you have done this before, I appreciate any suggestions or advice.

For those that are interested, here are some sights that I used for my initial research:

SeatGeek

TickPick

I will continue to update you on the status of this latest venture…stay tuned
