Passive vs Active Income Streams for STMT

Passive income

By publishing the latest set of financials for Shake the Money Tree (STMT), I couldn’t help but notice that my passive income stream is starting to gain traction.

What is Passive Income vs Active Income?

I define passive income of money being earned regularly with little or no effort. In the case of STMT, these are the earnings from my dividend and interest accounts. When it comes to active income, this money is earned for completing tasks or services. Shake the Money Tree active income sources are various side hustles and Paid to Click sites (PTC). Lastly, there is a set of income sources that I label as “tweener” right in between active and passive. For the site, this is mainly my cash back rewards that are passively earned on my active spending activities.

STMT Results

STMT Income Streams

When analyzing the 2020 results for STMT, August monthly results fell below the monthly averages for 2020 and the last 3 months in $’s terms. This is mainly driven by the one time signing bonus I earned for $225 in June. When looking at the % to total splits of each income stream, the passive income stream has doubled to 8.8% of August monthly results driven by the investment increase in my dividend portfolio with SPHD

With all that said, I am very happy and encouraged with the progress I made so far….and will continue with my journey. Any ideas out there on some other forms of income ideas, either passive or active will work?
