Cash back with each Uber ride you take

If you are becoming a regular reader of this blog, you will notice that I love to find ways to save money. This next tip comes with the inspiration from my last post on stacking rewards on my purchases. In that last post, I recommended always going to the Rakuten (formerly Ebates) site as your first stop of available rewards. I decided to do just that and noticed that I can get a cash back if I were to access the Uber app first through the Rakuten app which will result in a $0.50 cash back per ride. Even better, you can actually earn 50% more from doing the same thing with the Ibotta app which will give you $0.75 per ride.

Here is the step by step guide on how to do and rake in the cash back:

#1. Sign up for Rakuten here and you will get $10 on your first $25 purchase, a 40% value. After signup, download the app onto your phone

#2. Sign up for Ibotta here and download app onto your phone

#3. When you are ready to order the Uber and you want max cash back, go to the Ibotta app and type in Uber.

#4. Hit the SHOP button and this will direct you to the Uber app

#5. Put in your Uber request and complete the trip

#6. In a few hours, you should see the $0.75 in you account and Ibotta currently has a $20 withdrawal threshold. If you are a frequent Uber driver as I am, you will hit the withdrawal limit quickly.

It is as easy as that. If you prefer Rakuten, it is basically the same process just replace Ibotta with Rakuten app. My money tree likes it, so will yours
