There is free money around everywhere. This latest free money opportunity is from American Express. AMEX is using the COVID 19 pandemic as an opportunity to increase their Apple Pay adoption. AMEX will give you a $10 credit when you use their card through the touchless Apple Pay feature on your phone after 3 charges.
I have an AMEX Blue Cash card that I don’t use anymore because I gain more money back rewards with my Chase card. I keep this card active with no balance to help improve my credit score. As a cardholder, this promotion was sent to my personal inbox. So simple and straightforward, it was hard for me not to go grab the $10 they are giving away.
It took me less than 2 minutes to add my AMEX card to my Apple wallet as I scanned a pic of the card. From there, I made sure not to go and create 3 new spending actions that I normally would have but to incorporate using my AMEX for any small quick purchases throughout my day.
So with that in mind, I ended up using Apple Pay over the next couple of days at the local convenience stores and coffee shops. Across the 3 entire purchases, I spend $11.09. Within two days from the last purchase, a $10 credit appears on my statement and my remaining balance to pay for those purchases is $1.09, a $10 savings. This $10.00 will help grow the money tree that much higher.
